September 06 - September 13, 2010: Master Blacksmith/Master Carpenter, Stiv Mackey.
On our inaugural program, Valerie will be interviewing Master Blacksmith/Master Carpenter, Stiv Mackey. His primary emphasis is metal sculpture. Whether fantastical, realistic or an idea a client has dreamed up, he will create it. Stiv focuses on "upcycling," which is actually turning so-called junk into Beauty. Most people describe his work as FUN. He make sculpture, lights, railings, furniture, hardware and industrial prototypes.
September 13 - September 20, 2010: Jewelry Designer, Cynthia N. Bryant
Valerie will be interviewing Jewelry Designer Cynthia Bryant. Cynthia's jewelry is hand-crafted using gemstones and other beads embraced in wire-wrapping for necklaces, bracelets, earrings and anklets. As a cancer survivor herself, she has a special interest in designing cancer survivor/awareness jewelry, usually bracelets, by using beads for the awareness color and add a survivor charm.
September 20 - September 27, 2010: Owner of the David David Gallery in Philadelphia, Carl David
Carl David is the 3rd generation Fine Art Dealer in the now 4th generation David David Gallery in Philadelphia, specializing in original 18th-20th century American & European paintings, watercolors, drawings & sculptures. His is also and author of two books "Collecting & Care Of Fine Art," and "Bader Field," articles in the American Art Review:"The Lure Of Flying" and "Martha Walter." His insights and knowledge will be of great interest to us all!
September 27 - October 04, 2010: The Blue Heron Studio Owner, Carla Eakins-Khouri
Valerie will be interviewing studio owner Carla Eakins-Khouri. Carla developed The Blue Heron Studio and Retreat to bring art students, fine art crafters, and teachers together in a very peaceful, remote setting in Gainesboro, Middle Tennessee. Students can enjoy a refreshing break from everyday hectic lives while enhancing or exploring new opportunities in art and different craft mediums.
October 04 – October 11, 2010: Director of the ART Prowl, Marilee Hall
As a self-employed craft artist, Marilee makes hand built clay sculpture of a figurative nature, traveling to art shows, selling to galleries, individual commissions and through catalogs. We’ll be talking about art as story-telling, empowerment as self-employed artists, and of course the importance of the art in a community.
October 11 – October 18, 2010: Fine Art Photographer, Cella Neapolitan.
Valerie and Cella will be talking about Cella’s many ways of using fine photography in everything from prints, to jewelery and more.
October 18 – October 25, 2010: Painter, Sandra Bos.
Valerie and Sandi will be talking about Sandra’s painting technique called "Pieces's of Color" and what inspires her work.
October 25 – November 01, 2010: Painter, Wayne Hogan.
Valerie and Wayne will be talking about the state of the arts in America and about Wayne’s eclectic mixture of endeavors in the arts.
